Verb of Perception

এখন আমরা Verb of Perception নিয়ে আলোচনা করব:

Perceive শব্দের অর্থ হলো অনুমান করা। আর Perception শব্দের অর্থ হলো অনুভূতি বা অনুভব। যে Verb গুলো দ্বারা ইন্দ্রিয়ের (চোখ, কান, নাক, চিহ্বা, ত্বক) মাধ্যমে কোন কিছু অনুভব করা বুঝায় তাকে Verb of Perception বলে। যেমন:

See----- দেখা: ----------------------- Rima sees the cat. 
Hear ---- শোনা: --------------------- I hear the sound daily.
Smell ---- ঘ্রান নেওয়া: ----------- Can you smell the odour (গন্ধ) ?
Feel ------ অনুভব করা: ------------ Iron feels hard.
Taste ------ আস্বাদন করা: --------- Taste the orange.
Notice ----- লক্ষ্য করা: ------------ Have you noticed the scenery?
Observe ---- লক্ষ্য করা: ------ Have you observed the scenery?
Recognize --- চিনতে পারা: ------- Did you recognize me?

সাধারন অর্থে Verb of Perception এর Continuous Tense হয় না। যেমন:

Incorrect : I am seeing a bird.
Correct : I see a bird.
Incorrect : I am feeling well.
Correct : I feel well.
